Held in Istanbul, this in-person assessment brought together DPI’s network of experts, political figures, academics, and civil society leaders to evaluate Türkiye’s post-election trajectory. The group examined the country’s rising nationalist discourse, the economic downturn, and the possibility of constitutional reforms, as well as Türkiye’s evolving relationship with the EU. Discussions focused on identifying narrow but actionable windows for advancing democratisation and peace, even within a constrained political landscape. Participants stressed the importance of civil society resilience, the potential of regional cooperation, and the critical role that international actors could play in supporting domestic conflict resolution efforts.
