Interactive Seminar: Youth’s Perspective on Conflict Resolution in Post-Election Türkiye (8 July 2023, Istanbul)

This interactive seminar provided a rare and valuable space for young researchers, civil society actors, journalists, and analysts to explore how Türkiye’s youth view the post-election political landscape and the prospects for conflict resolution. Participants examined how Generation Z voters — who now make up nearly a quarter of Türkiye’s population — engage with politics, revealing patterns of critical thinking mixed with loyalty to family voting traditions. Discussions highlighted the shift among Kurdish youth away from armed struggle towards peaceful political engagement and the desire for greater civic and political rights. The seminar emphasised the need to amplify youth voices in peacebuilding processes, recognising that their perspectives and energies are critical for developing sustainable, inclusive solutions.
