This opening assessment of the year brought together political analyst Ali Bayramoğlu and a diverse audience of politicians, academics, civil society members, and international experts. The session analysed Türkiye’s shifting alliances, including the tactical manoeuvres of the opposition and the ruling party, and assessed the significance of the upcoming general elections for the Kurdish issue, conflict resolution, and regional geopolitics. Participants reflected on the complexities of balancing electoral competition with opportunities for peacebuilding, and the discussion helped frame DPI’s programme activities for the critical pre-election period.
